The news is coming out in a slow trickle. Quite a contrast to what residents of Casper can see with a glance at the river which runs right through the entire town.
If you live along the North Platte River, you know we are facing record high flows similar to last year.
In an effort to mitigate the spring run-off, the Bureau of Reclamation has been releasing water from the Pathfinder/Alcova dam system in an attempt to make room for the spring run off. We are still waiting to see if it will be enough. At this point, it looks like it all depends on the speed of the spring melt from those high elevation areas which feed the system. Praying for a long, SLOW warm up into summer.
